VIVENTO – we don’t want to stop
Jan Kowal is the founder and creator of Sękpol, now operating under the name VIVENTO, which has been in business since 1984. In December 2021, the company received a decision from the Kraków Technology Park granting support under the Polish Investment Zone programme.
The founder has always been passionate about working with wood. Initially, he spent a long time crafting unique external doors; later, he successfully expanded the business, and today the company’s flagship product is internal doors, which are very well known to customers in Poland and across Europe.
Family company powering the region
VIVENTO is a family-run business. The advantages of running this type of company include the strong commitment of each partner to the company’s operational and investment processes. Decision-making can be faster and the exchange of information easier.
VIVENTO specialises in interior doors. The range is complemented by door accessories and complementary products, such as skirting boards and a new addition – Hero slatted panels.
Half of the production is exported, mainly to European Union countries, but sales are also made to South and North America.
VIVETO is a company that has been based in Gręboszów, on the edge of the Małopolska Province, since its inception. Its presence in a small rural municipality, far from major urban centres, brings many advantages but also challenges. The company’s operations in the region help to curb emigration, stabilise the local labour market and make a significant contribution to the local authority’s budget.
Business growth in challenging times
Running a manufacturing business, particularly in the current climate, is extremely demanding. That is precisely why the company has decided to make a new investment with the support of the Polish Investment Zone programme. VIVENTO plans to upgrade its existing production lines with modern machinery and equipment, build a production and logistics hall with staff and office facilities, and install a photovoltaic system. The tax relief under the Polish Investment Zone programme is helping to realise these plans at a time of market instability.
“The challenges that have become increasingly significant, particularly over the last two years, include production issues and disruptions in the supply chains for raw materials, as well as rising transport costs and the depreciation of the zloty. In terms of sales, the challenge lies in monitoring and responding quickly to trends in window and door joinery” – Poland is a true leader in this field, says Małgorzata Kowal-Stelmach, co-owner of VIVENTO.
“We know how much our team members rely on us, which is why we did everything we could to ensure that none of our more than 200 employees were made redundant during the difficult times of the pandemic. I’ll say without false modesty that we succeeded,” says Małgorzata Kowal-Stelmach.
“We face a difficult period ahead. The realities of the pandemic and the war have shown that we must plan responsibly. We have no shortage of ideas or the will to work, but we make decisions based on the economic situation and our extensive experience. We do not want to stand still, but caution is advised in order to weather the difficult times in the market. It must be remembered that doors are not a basic necessity, so in an era of rampant inflation, it is understandable that demand for them is falling. However, we are optimistic about the future,” she adds.
